2016 is flying by! March already and we have a very early Easter at the end of the month. With this in mind I was looking up some Easter hymns, old and new. Old favourites like 'Christ the Lord is Risen Today' by Charles Wesley and 'Thine be the Glory' by Edmond Budrey. My eyes alighted on a relatively new hymn called 'Because He Lives' by Bill and Gloria Gaither. The first verse and the chorus go like this:-

God sent His Son, they called Him Jesus,
He came to love, heal and forgive;
He lived and died to buy my pardon,
An empty grave is there to prove my Saviour lives!
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives, all fear is gone,
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living,
Just because He lives!

Can you say that this is true in your experience? A life free from guilt - completely pardoned? Can you face the future whatever it holds? Is your life without any fear ? For those who have a personal relationship with Jesus this is a very real experience. Because they know that Jesus died and on the first Easter Sunday rose again for them, they have a life which is worth the living. And it's all because He lives!
