Easter Fayre

Easter Fayre

Saturday saw the Cubs, Guides and Beavers hold an Easter Fayre to raise money for the upkeep of the Eastgate Centre.

There were many activities and stalls on offer including a raffle, tomboloa, bric a brac, face painting and egg decorating.

An excellent selection of refreshments were also available. A large number of people attended the fayre and the Tombola sold out in under an hour!

The total of monies raised was £292.

Do you have a daughter aged seven to nine?

Would she like to meet new friends and have a fun time?

Learn new skills, craft or a game,

Believe me no meeting is ever the same.

Then Brownies is the place to go!

The numbers in our pack are a bit low.

We meet at 6 for an hour and a half.

Lots of fun and a guaranteed laugh.

We're looking for new girls to come and see

If they like it and would want to be,

A Swanton Morley Brownie, it's not that far,

To travel on a Monday night, in your car.

Take some interest badges, computer or cooks,

Circus performer or maybe a lover of books?

Last term we made cakes, pizza and a Father's Day card,

Hostess and Agility badges and a walk weren't too hard.

Guiding is celebrating 100 years,

So a great tie to join in with three cheers

To help us look back at the last century

Of how it has changed and used to be.

For more information about Swanton Morley Brownies and to register your interest (even if your daughter isn't yet seven she can be placed on a waiting list) please contact Yvette O'Hara on 01362 851069.

Are you under 16 years of age? Could you make a small scarecrow - no bigger than 30cm or 12 inches?

You could make it out of any materials, cloth, wood, straw, or anything else you can think of.

Bring it along to the Gardening Club Annual Show on the morning of Saturday 8th August and enter it into Class 56.

We are hoping to get lots of entries in this new class.

If any children would also like to make a small tray garden and bring it along it would be very welcome.

There is not a class for this in the show so we will ask one of the judges to select the best one and there will be a prize for the winner.
