This is an unusual item for the site - it is a slide presentation of a journey along the route of the infamous Burma Railway.
A brief explanation: it was compiled by Norman Lowe's (one of your North Elmham Parish Councillors) nephew (who now lives in Australia).
His Father was taken prisoner of war at Singapore during World War Two and sent to work on theThailand - Burma Railway (the infamous Railway of Death).
Along with his wife, Norman's nephew took a holiday in Thailand (Burma is still a closed country) and decided to retrace parts of the route of the railway and also try to imagine what those prisoners had to endure working in that steamy heat with very little to eat.

The presentation (no sound) lasts for about 30 minutes and includes the River Kwai bridge (still the prisoner build replavement for the one that was blown up).

It is a large file (57Mb) but the download is fine on a Broadband connection, for those with dialup I suggest you find someone with broadband to download it for you. It is a Windows Movie File but plays OK on a Mac as well provided the Microsoft Player is installed.
