Toxacariasis is a disease transmitted from animals to humans which is present in dog mess. It can cause blindness in vulnerable people, especially children. On most days when I walk my little girl to school there are numerous piles of dog mess on and very close to the paths we have to take.
Every day for the last week there has been a pile right outside the school. If you are a dog walker with an ounce of respect for anybody else, PLEASE pick up after your dog. If on the other hand you are completely selfish and thoughtless, and do not care whether you are solely responsible for blinding a child, carry on with your truly disgusting and selfish activity. To all the lovely dog walkers who always clear up after your dogs, I would like to THANK YOU on behalf of every parent and child in the village.
