Dodie Smith's novel (1956) tells the tale of Pongo and Missis's Dalmatian puppies, which are stolen by Cruella de Vil. Pongo and Missis run away from their owners, find the puppies in Hell Hall, in Suffolk, and make their perilous way back home.
