Community Plan Introduction

10 interested and enthusiastic parishioners willing to contribute their wide range of experience and skills met with Peter Smith of the Rural Community Council to discuss ways of taking the idea of a Community Plan forward.

It was agreed that Peter Wade Martins would chair this meeting. Sue Ball would be Secretary and Linda Richmond would act as Treasurer. There was a great deal of discussion around what the group wanted to achieve and why there was a need to involve the whole community in the planning.

The group would be independent of the Parish Council but would work closely with it and report to the Council every month.  Elmham News would be useful as a way of letting the community know what was going on but a new website would be created as well so that information could be dispersed both on paper and electronically , leaving no one out.

Time was spent looking at who needs to know that we are to produce a plan and this ranges from the Parish Council, the Police, the Surgery, School and local businesses to the village organisations and clubs and the general community

The new name for the Parish Plan would be North Elmham Community–led Group, so emphasising that it will reflect the needs of the community.

The date of the next meeting will be on Thursday 12 February at 7.30pm in the Pavilion.
