Playgroup - July 2010
We would like to thank all the children and toddlers who came to join us at the Church Fete last month. Despite the weather being against us we managed to have a great success with our Goody Jar Tombola and send our sincere thanks to the Church for allowing us to be included. We also made a sweet flower for the Billingford Flower Festival and thanks again to Billingford Church for allowing us to join in.
We are now hoping for a brilliant sunny July so the children can enjoy lots of outdoor play including our new den building area and equipment. The children had also set lots of wild flowers in our garden area, potted plants and tomatoes which we hope will now flourish and we will shall have lots of insects and butterflies to observe not forgetting tasty snacks Playgroup grown.
The children have also set up an interest table in Playgroup where they can bring special photographs of days out or objects that they have collected on their travels which they can then talk about and share in group sessions.
For the older children "Move Up" day takes place on Thursday 8th July so the children will spend the day at big school in preparation for a great start in September.
Our very important AGM is to take place on Wednesday 14th July at Playgroup, when we need to vote a new committee. Without a full committee in place in September we will not be able to open. New parents do please come along and take part the playgroup really does need you. Meeting starts 7.30pm.
By being on the committee you will be part of a group and your opinions and efforts really valued.
Playgroup has several general maintenance jobs that also need attention so if you find that you would be prepared to be involved for a few hours as a volunteer helper we really do want you to step forward and put your name down. Lots of work goes on behind the scenes during the Summer Break and more hands make lighter work!
Reminder that Thursday 22nd July will be the final visit from the Toy Library.
It's so hard to believe that the Summer Break is getting so close with a summer trip, leavers party and Trikeathon/Fete. It's such a busy time with fun and excitement for the children all the way up to when we break for summer on Friday 23rd July.
