Platgroup - June 2010
The children are currently enjoying their half term holiday and will be returning to Playgroup on Monday 7th June.
However, we hope to see many of their little faces at the Church Fete, which takes place on Sunday 6th June from 2pm to 5pm. This brings lots of the local community together, both young and old, with lots going on. Playgroup hope to have a stall this time so we would like to see lots of you supporting this great event and taking time to browse at our stall, perhaps buy a goody jar or just say hello.
The next committee meeting will be Thursday 17th June and it is really important that as many attend as possible as it will be the last meeting of the school year prior to the AGM where the current committee will be dissolving.
The older children who will be getting ready for big school in September have been enjoying visits over to the school in preparation for the move. On Mondays they have been taking a packed lunch into the Hall and joining in afternoon class with the reception group and on Wednesdays they practise putting on PE kit the right way round!
This introduction process along with visits to Playschool from Mrs Mann (head teaching assistant at big school) are all gentle little steps but make a big difference and hopefully make an easy transition into school for the children.
The Playgroup garden patch has been tended well by all the children and we hope the children will see some great results on the snack table over the coming term.
The next fundraiser will be the Playgroup Push Along event at the end of the month. We hope children will raise sponsorship for pushing their decorated pram, trolley, scooter, cart etc for laps around the playgroup garden whilst parents sit back and enjoy a cream tea. Date yet to be confirmed but look out for the posters coming soon.
