North Elmham Playgroup April 2010
As the first signs of spring start to appear, up buds Playgroup again which continues to grow steadily.
The Playgroup has undergone its Spring Clean Up and now has lots of wonderful new storage with new toys to fill it. Next project is an outside are for "den building". With various small fundraisers on the go we must take this opportunity to thank the village bingo who kindly held a bingo night for us and helped raise over £100 and also the Brisley Bell who have held several quiz nights on our behalf and not forgetting the parents who are always supporting lots of small fund raising items in between. Currently, we are trying to set up a Playgroup 100 Club and for this to work we need 100 people to pay out £l2 a year with a chance of winning a first prize of £30, second prize of £l5 and third prize of £5 each month. Unfortunately we have been unable to fill in all the numbers at Playgroup but if anyone from the village would be interested in participating and would like more information on this fundraiser, please do contact us you would be very welcome to join. We cannot convey enough the importance of fund raising to playgroup, which we rely on so much for the children to enjoy new toys etc.
Advance Notice - we are in the early stages of organising a "Quiz and Pudding Night" for Friday 21st May - more details next month - but please pencil this date in your diary we need your support. We failed miserably last year on ticket sales but this event is a great opportunity for much laughter as well as eats and drinks.
We must also pass on our thanks to Meg White who kindly joined one of our committee meetings as a representative of the North Elmham Parish Plan Committee and explained about the questionnaire which will be delivered to all residents of the village shortly and which has a specific section on Playgroup. We urge everyone in the village that has young children to express a view. We would love new premises with lots of parking and a great new play area in the village in years to come and if you would like this to please complete the questionnaire and make this work!
Our next playgroup committee meeting will be on 21st April at 7 .30pm at the Kings Head Public House (in the Snug), all welcome to attend.
Meanwhile at the end of the month the little ones will be able to get together and enjoy their first planned outing of the year with a Trip, which is taking place on Thursday 29m April - at time of print venue not yet decided - look out for the posters!
