The end of the year will pass in school with a flurry of activity, the joint Nativity put on by the Federation was a huge success with the money raised by a collection at the end, £247.00, being sent to the Quidenham Hospice.

Our Key Stage 1 children are also staging two performances of their own "Wriggly Nativity", one for local friends and one for parents.

We are to have a whole school Christmas Lunch prepared by the school cook, Mrs Gordon, to consist of all the trimmings!

All classes are to participate in Christmas Parties in school, as well as a Talent Show for the older children, and our wonderful fundraisers (FONES) are putting on an end of year Disco at the Institute with a special visit from the big man himself - Father Christmas.

The New Year will bring with it new challenges and new beginnings, not least to recruit a new Headteacher – someone to challenge and inspire the children across both North Elmham and Bawdeswell Schools.

Thank you to the village and villagers for their support over 2011 and "Happy New Year".

This month at school, as always, will be a very busy period for all children and staff. Both schools are delighted that Mrs Jane Leband, Year 5/6 teacher at Bawdeswell, is producing and directing a Federated Christmas Production "The School Nativity", at Reepham High School on 6th December 2011. Sadly this is not open to the public due to space but we hope to release an audio recording in the New Year.

On Friday 11.11.11 the school observed the 2 minutes silence in recognition of those who sacrificed their lives for freedom and existence in the future.

We have a very committed Friends of North Elmham School (FONES) who continually strive to raise funds to enhance the learning of all children within the school. We are deeply indebted to them and would like to take this opportunity to thank all those that take part.

Thank you to the villagers that have volunteered to help in school after our request in last month's edition. We look forward to welcoming you as soon as possible.

North Elmham Primary School

This year our School Council has chosen to support Voice for Change Charity which raises money for Brazilian street children.

As part of this work, we have been peparing for a Carnival with a Samba Band and dancers representing earth, water, fire and air.

We have been trained by the Norwich Samba band leader and Mariana Pinho, international samba dance teacher, in this very exciting project.

Please come and join in the celebration!

Carnival begins 1:30pm - crosses the village green, down part of Eastgate Street, aroung Orchard Close and back.
